Who are we?

Specialized in design and support projects of tourism development respectful of the environment and populations, Tunisia Ecotourism is still committed to defending and promoting heritage Tunisian forward landscapes Tunisia and by enhancing local know-how.

Why such a platform?

In the current World Trade Organization several findings are to do:

  • The presence of very many intermediaries on a single sector of production and especially of powerful industrialists or brands requires craftsmen rules and prices over which they have little margin of decision and income.
  • In certain areas of the world, consumers are increasingly looking to the conditions of production of the goods they buy (sustainability and equity including).
  • The craft trade is often done without the knowledge of the producer and the end consumer who know each other neither the destination nor the source.

It is to respond to these findings and in line with its own values and global sustainable development objectives set by the United Nations that Tunisia Ecotourism has developed a platform for the sale of products of Tunisian handicrafts.

What values do we want to put forward through this platform?

The platform aims to promote crafts and traditional Tunisian know-how in accordance with the Charter of fair trade principles:

–          Tunisian artisans paid at the right price, under their production and the costs of which are not drawn down.

–          Artisans have family productions of small areas that generate employment family and/or local

–          Tunisian traditional know-how of handicraft products

–          From materials of Tunisia and in

How do we ensure that each of these elements are respected?

–          A contract is signed with each Tunisian artisan who will sell its products on the platform

–          Annual information meetings are held with the artisans to inform the development of the regulatory and legislative framework and to discuss the common perspectives related to the promotion of handicrafts

–          Tunisia Ecotourism pays 5% on the sale of the product and not on the margin of the craftsman to ensure maintenance of the platform, logistics and inventory management products including
